ST ERC’S HERMITAGE
Grant aided conservation works at St Erc’s Hermitage – a small medieval monastery / hermitage, consisting of a small late-medieval Church with a Tower linked to a domestic residence, likely dating back to the late 15th to early 16th century . The site is a recorded monument protected by National Monuments Legislation and is also a Protected Structure. Furthermore, it is in a forested area on the banks of the River Boyne, within an SAC and a stone’s throw away from and SPA.
